The incident happened on Truxton Street and Leggett Avenue around 12 p.m.

Video from the scene shows a jackknifed oil tanker, with oil leaking into nearby drains.

One firefighter sustained minor injuries.

"When units arrived, we found a tanker truck carrying approximately 35 tons of liquid asphalt flipped on its side and leaking" said FDNY Battalion Chief Walter Kowalski.

The FDNY says fire units quickly acted to isolate and contain the spill, preventing it from entering storm drains or surrounding buildings.

The Department of Environmental Protection, Office of Emergency Management and Department of Sanitation also responded to the scene and are working to resolve the issue.
