The Bronx's Little Italy held the famous Ferragosto Festival on Sunday.
The history of the original Ferragosto Festival goes back at least 2,000 years in honor of the Roman Emperor Caesar Augustus.
The merchants of Little Italy in Belmont have put their own twist on it over the last 25 years.
Held on the second Sunday of each September, the festival serves up the best of Italian culture in the Bronx, like homemade pasta sauce, desserts, sausages, pizza and more.
The festival was canceled last year due to the pandemic, but came back in full swing this weekend.
