For the third consecutive year, a film festival in the Bronx is focusing on the importance of fathers in the community.
The Fatherhood Image Film Festival aims to start a conversation about the qualities of a good father.
The festival highlights how fathers are portrayed in the media. It also emphasizes films produced by local artists to spark a discussion about family dynamics, cultural similarities and what fathers can do to better communicate with their children.
Organizers say the proceeds from the event will go to public schools students in the borough to help them research parenting through films.
"People study to be all kinds of different things," said Bob McCullough, founder of the Fatherhood Image Film Festival. "They study to be scientists, basketball players, performers, and we don't invest in our parenting."
Admission to the festival is $5 for Bronx residents and free for anyone under 18.
