Five individuals sustained injuries, one of them in serious condition, following a fire that erupted in an apartment building on East 138th Street between Willis Avenue and Brown Place around 6 a.m.
All victims were transported to Jacobi Hospital.
The FDNY is investigating the cause, indicating the fire likely originated on the first floor.
