Fire officials: 6 people injured in fire at Fordham apartment building

Fire officials say a fire at an apartment building in Fordham left six people injured early Saturday morning.

Fire officials say a fire at an apartment building in Fordham left six people injured early Saturday morning.
They say firefighters rushed to 2175 Ryer Ave. just after 1:30 a.m. and found flames on the third floor of the building.
Fire officials say 12 different units with 60 firefighters were called to the scene to knock down the fire.
They say tenants, including families and children, were all evacuated to the street. The fire was under control around 2:30 a.m.
They say out of the six injured, five people had minor injuries and one person had serious but non-life threatening injuries.
All of the victims were sent to an area hospital for treatment.
The Red Cross tells News 12 in a statement that it has provided emergency financial assistance and housing to a family of 10 consisting of six adults and four children.
