Fire officials: Floor collapses inside Bronx hair salon with people inside
A floor collapsed inside a Bronx hair salon Sunday evening with people inside - who managed to escape before it completely caved in, fire officials say.
The FDNY says that all of a sudden, customers and hair stylists in Klaman Hair Braiding Salon heard strange noises and felt the floor begin to shift around 6 p.m. The floor then completely caved into the basement.
The FDNY says four people were inside but they only suffered minor injuries. They say that over 100 firefighters responded to the scene and special FDNY dogs were brought in to search the basement of the building, but luckily, no one was down there during the collapse.
The salon is a part of a building with several floors housing families. The city's building department were scene evaluating the structure to make sure it's safe.
