A large fire broke out late Sunday night that tore through dozens of apartments at a high-rise building in Coney Island.
A neighbor who News 12 spoke with off camera who lives at 2007 Surf Ave. said the fire started on the roof and not in any of the building's apartment.
Fire officials say there were no injuries.
They say 60 firefighters responded to the scene just before 10:30 p.m.
Citizen App captured video of massive flames shooting through the roof and spreading.
As of Monday morning, the fire is fully out and under control.
Officials have not yet confirmed the cause of the fire, and it does seem people who live on floors 1 through 18 were able to go back inside to their homes as those were the apartments not directly affected.
However, the electricity has been turned off for the apartments on the top four floors as there is likely significant damage to those units.
