Biotechnology giant Moderna announced this morning that the first children received shots in a trial that will test its vaccine on minors ranging in age from 6 months to 12 years old.
The primary purpose of the study is to test the safety and effectiveness of the mRNA vaccine.
If it prevents COVID-19 and transmission in children, it would be a crucial public health tool to help curb the pandemic.
