The first Golden Corral just opened its doors in New York City - located on East Tremont Avenue in Parkchester.
The restaurant, known for its fried chicken and hot rolls with honey butter, opened on Labor Day.
This Golden Corral is also the first to open in any urban market in the country.
The restaurant usually serves buffet style, but adjusted its procedures and is serving customers directly to their tables under a large outdoor dining tent or to-go.
Nearly 190 people can be seated in the outdoor space. Customers tell News 12 they feel safe eating due to the space being large.
The restaurant is also offering job opportunities for the community.
Masks are required for customers and staff, and all tables are socially distanced and sanitized between customers.
The restaurant will also offer a contactless payment method and delivery options within the next few weeks.
