Community members are demanding increased security measures after a 58-year-old woman was violently robbed in her apartment in Flatbush Gardens this week.
According to reports, the perpetrator, described as wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, made his way into the building and began kicking down the victim's door, leaving visible damage behind.
When the woman opened the door, he grabbed her phone and fled the scene, leaving her traumatized and frightened.
“They're things that are supposed to be put in place to keep us safe, and if the basic front door isn't working, yeah, I feel unsafe. That lady wasn't doing anything wrong; she was in her own apartment building," said a tenant named Dannie.
News 12 reached out to the building management for comment but has not received a response yet.
