Fleet Week is officially back after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was an exciting morning along the water in Bay Ridge Wednesday as the parade of ships went by to kick off the official start to Fleet Week.
Boarded by hundreds of Navy, Marine Corps. and Coast Guard service members, ships entered the New York waterways and made their way under the Verrazano Bridge. From there, they headed up the Hudson to south of the George Washington Bridge.
Bay Ridge residents were so excited for the parade that some came out early in the morning to get a glimpse as they went by.
Fleet Week runs until next Tuesday. For those who didn't get to see the ships as they entered the harbor or just want to see more, they can schedule a ship tour.
