A floating garden was launched Saturday at Concrete Plant Park in Hunts Point.
The floating food forest was created by the nonprofit group 'Swale.' They say the project has been in the works for years and is designed to promote healthy, affordable and sustainable eating.
"We hope that this actually has really long legs and can influence public spaces across the city," Swale Founder Marty Mattingly says.
The plants are free for anyone to take home and cook. The garden will be open from Wednesday through Sunday for the next month.
