Residents of NYCHA buildings in Fort Greene say Henri brought flooding, rain and devastating leaks into their homes, ruining their things and creating a hazardous situation.
A resident shared a video with News 12 that shows water pouring out of her ceiling in the bathroom.
News 12 visited three apartments in various buildings and each neighbor showed water collecting in the walls behind the paint, forming bubbles on the wall.
One resident says she is worried she will have an electrical fire and has been without power.
A spokesperson from NYCHA told News 12, “NYCHA staff has been addressing leaks all day due to the weekend storms. We are working with a vendor on making permanent repairs to the roof in order to mitigate these issues in the future."
NYCHA also says it restored power in several affected apartments, but residents say they’re dreading when the rain returns.
