The Food Bank for New York City is teaming up with the Administration for Children's Services for the first time to open an emergency food pantry just for ACS families in the Bronx.
The food pantry, located in Fordham Manor on the Grand Concourse, will provide non-perishable food items plus refrigerated and frozen meals families can pick up and take home.
ACS Commissioner David Hansell says it represents a milestone worth celebrating.

"We work with families all across New York City. I have a tough time here in the Bronx. We have many families to work with that we know in the past, so this was really our priority is here and we are very excited to be doing it, but we know there are needs like this all across the city,” he says.
The new pantry will also be offering cooking lessons and other healthy eating tips to interested families.
