The Dukan diet is a high-protein, low-fat diet that consists of two phases to help lose weight and two phases to keep the weight off for life.
A Dukan diet nutritionist discussed ways to make healthy decisions in the season of candy canes and cookies with News 12. Simone Gloger says before heading to a party, dieters should eat a snack and stick to high-protein snacks like cottage cheese and turkey jerky to keep blood sugar stable.
She says protein is thermogenic, which means it will help to burn more calories.
Gloger also says to try to stay away from anything that is fried or high in carbohydrates.
In terms of alcohol, stick to red or white wine, or even a glass of champagne. Eggnog is high in fat and calories.
