On the eve of Thanksgiving, dozens of police officers, local businesses and volunteers gave back to the community and spread holiday cheer by serving meals to the city’s homeless.
J&S Caring food pantry paired with Eat NYC, local businesses and the 41st and 52nd precincts to host the Midnight Run, in which dozens of community members walk together through the streets serving meals to the hungry.
“In Hunts Point, there are a lot of people who need help” one of the organizers said. “And they’re going to get a hot meal and a piece of clothing to keep them warm tonight.”
News 12 The Bronx is told that the volunteers also handed out bags of nonperishable goods to last individuals a few days.
