As the recovery effort continues on the island of Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria, Bronx residents joined in song Saturday to aid the cause.
Live music, dancing and donations were all part of a fundraising event for Puerto Rico in Fordham Plaza Saturday, where many with Puerto Rican heritage and ties to the island came to show support.
The concert was organized by elected officials in the Bronx as part of a local commitment to provide aid.
Energized and emotional concertgoers, some of whom have family they cannot contact in Puerto Rico, broke out in chants of "We are all Americans!" during the concert.
