Students at Fordham Preparatory School partnered with the Bronx chapter of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. on Thursday for a coat drive.

"We just wanted to get together and make an impact and provide coats for those in need," said Gregory Adegbola, chapter president of the Tau Chi Sigma alumni chapter.

Together, they packed up 267 coats for men and women donated by students and families. The coats were given to those in need at the New Directions Secondary School in the Concourse Village section of the Bronx.

"I know some people outside who don't have a coat for themselves," said Jahli Ward, a student at Fordham Prep School. "So, as a community, it makes me feel good."

His school gym teacher, Adrian Newell, is also a Sigma. "That's what it is about. Paying it forward, doing the work, and the service," said Newell.
