Fordham's shopping district is a hot spot for sneaker enthusiasts.
According the its Business Improvement District, one out of four stores sells the footwear.
"There are more sneaker stores per capita here in Fordham than in the whole country," says David Rose, from the Fordham BID.
"Fordham is the Mecca for fashion and sneakers. Once you look at someone's feet, they have to have some great sneakers on," says sneaker lover Omaruris Rodriguez.
Sneaker admirers say social media is also helping to attract them to the Fordham shopping district.
