Founder of JetBlue launches Breeze Airways at MacArthur Airport

A brand-new airline is coming to MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma.
The airline is called Breeze Airways. JetBlue founder David Neeleman is behind it.
The airline and the airport made the announcement Monday. The airline did their certifications and testing from an airplane hangar at MacArthur Airport.
Flights currently are as low as $39 one way and will begin Feb. 17. Service will be to Norfolk, Virginia, and Charleston, South Carolina.
Town of Islip Supervisor Anger Carpenter says it is a "game-changer" for the airport.
"I want everyone to understand the airport, the convenience and appeal this airport has will stay here," Carpenter says.
The airline says there will be no cancellation or change fees. Flights can be booked from its app.
