Free coronavirus testing is being offered with haircuts at Etta Salon in Bed-Stuy.
The salon has partnered with NYC Test and Trace Corps and is hosting a mobile testing site for the community.
Community members lined up at the corner of Gates and Tompkins avenues to get tested for the virus, and the first 25 people in line got a gift certificate for a free haircut.
Etta Salon tells News 12 they wanted to help their community by providing more testing opportunities. Since the area was declared an orange zone in Brooklyn with higher COVID-19 cases, the owners decided to take part in the effort for the community.
The testing site is located outside the salon and is a nasal self-swab test at no cost. It is available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The salon hopes to host more mobile test sites in the future.
