Award-winning photographer Margaret Pattillo organized the “Families in Focus” charity event this weekend in West Concourse. It gave families the opportunity to have a mini holiday-themed photo shoot to capture the spirit of the season and to make new memories.

Pattillo said she wanted to give back this holiday season and knows that photography can be very expensive. Therefore, she decided to offer family festive photos at no-cost, so that around 100 families in the Bronx could have free photos.

The charity event was held at The Art Escape on Gerard Avenue and Pattillo says it was made possible by a number of donations from community partners and sponsors.

Many families said this was their first family holiday photo ever and they came dressed in their festive bes – tuxedos, dresses and matching sweaters.

Family in Focus says next year they hope to make this event even bigger and one day take it nationwide.
