Around two dozen front-line workers at SUNY Downstate Medical Center got vaccinated Tuesday, and hundreds more are in line to be inoculated against the coronavirus. 

Many say they’ve heard skepticism surrounding the vaccine but that they are following the science that indicates that the formula developed by Pfizer is safe, effective and can protect them from the virus. 

Around 25 people got the first of the two doses of the vaccine Tuesday. They tell News 12 it feels like any flu shot, and that they were monitored for about 30 minutes afterwards for an allergic reaction. 

Hospital leaders tell News 12 they expect around 1,000 front-line health care workers to get vaccinated by the end of the week.
