After three days of relentless wind, we are in for a well-deserved break today with calm wind and lots of sunshine. Although it's a cold start to the day, afternoon temperatures make up for it with highs around 60 under plenty of sunshine. The next few days look very mild with highs potentially hitting 60 through Wednesday, but there is some rain to get through also. We are expecting cloudy skies for most of Monday and on and off light showers in the afternoon. The next chance of rain arrives on Wednesday night and should clear out before you wake up on Thursday morning. The good news? None of this rain is heavy so, at worst, it will just be a nuisance.

There's no major cold in the forecast for the work week, but the weather pattern gets a little trickier to forecast for next weekend and could drop our first true cold snap of the season. This could mean the first hard freeze of the season as early as Saturday morning, although other models have the cold air arriving next Sunday or next Sunday morning. Either way, it's about a week away and it does line up with the average date for our first hard freeze. If you have plants that have survived the frosts we've seen in October, now is the time to consider bringing them in!
