Full throttle on coronavirus testing a priority as more sites open

332ds agoThe priority for New Yorkers continues to be coronavirus testing as the city, according to Mayor Bill De Blasio, is in the final phase on the war against the virus.
De Blasio said Tuesday more than 95,000 New Yorkers got tested in a single day and hopes to keep that up.
New York City Health and Hospitals are running several locations with free rapid testing. An ID is all that's required with no appointment necessary.
The sites are open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Test and Trace Corps. opened more than 10 new rapid sites in the five boroughs over the last month as well.
These are the latest efforts to provide services to the boroughs most in need, especially in neighborhoods that seemingly have a spike in cases.
As of Wednesday, the latest numbers indicate the average positive test rate in the city is 4.94%.
Test and Trace Corps. says the city can expect 20 rapid sites in the coming weeks.
