Family and friends gathered Monday to remember the life of a Tarrytown mother who was shot and killed last week.
Jessica Wiltse was laid to rest at the Bedford Union Cemetery in Bedford.
Wiltse, a young mother of two, was shot and killed inside her Tarrytown apartment last Tuesday. Family members describe her alleged killer as an acquaintance.
When police arrived at her White Plains Road home last week, they found the 34-year-old unconscious and bleeding from apparent gunshot wounds. She was later pronounced dead at Westchester Medical Center.

After a massive manhunt that forced several area schools to go into lockout mode, police arrested 28-year-old Kynelle Brown in New York City. Brown has been charged with second-degree murder in Wiltse's death.

The motive behind the deadly shooting is not yet known.
As he mourns his daughter's death, Eric Wiltse vows to get justice for her and the maximum punishment for the man accused of taking her life.
"I personally hopes he never sees the light of day," he says.
