Hundreds of gamers competed against each other Saturday for a chance to play in the Nintendo World Championships.
Bronx Terminal Market's Best Buy is one of just eight stores in the country to host the Nintendo World Championships qualifying round.
Two winners from the area will qualify. One gamer will be 12 or under and the other will be 13 or older.
The tournament is free and open to people of all ages.
For the first time, those who came out also had the opportunity to demo two of the most anticipated games of 2017: Super Mario Odyssey on Nintendo Switch and Metroid on Nintendo 3DS. Both of those games are expected to come out this fall.
The finals will be held at Manhattan Center on Oct. 7.
