Police say a Glen Cove man is facing multiple charges in connection to a DWI hit-and-run crash.
Police say Pedro Campos Guardado, 38, was involved in a crash on Highland Road in Glen Cove at 11 p.m. Wednesday. The other driver was injured and taken to a hospital.
Campos Guardado allegedly fled the scene, but was spotted down the road by police with a damaged front end and smoke pouring from his vehicle.
When officers attempted to arrest the suspect, he allegedly resisted.
Officers were on the ground struggling with the driver, when his car started rolling down a hill toward them.
The officers got out of the way, and the vehicle rolled onto the grass and struck a retaining wall.
Campos Guardado faces charges of DWI, leaving the scene of an accident, assault and resisting arrest.
