Gov. Andrew Cuomo says he is taking steps to make sure COVID-19 vaccines are distributed fairly across the state.
The Vaccine Equity Task Force will be headed by New York Secretary of State Rossana Rosado and state Attorney General Letitia James, along with the presidents and CEOs of the National Urban League and Health First.
The task force's goal is to limit any challenges residents may face that could prevent them from getting vaccinated, especially those living in vulnerable and undeserved areas.
Cuomo says people of color were left behind during the early months of the pandemic.
The governor says New York has distributed more doses of the vaccine than any other state in the country. Hundreds of thousands of more doses are expected to arrive this week.
