Gov. Andrew Cuomo addressed the latest coronavirus numbers in the city and is now calling the Bronx a statewide concern.
Cuomo says the positivity rate reached 7.26%. Hunts Point now has a seven-day positivity rate of 12.73%. Gov. Cuomo also named the Finger Lakes and Long Island as regions of statewide concern on Monday.
While he says the holiday spike of the virus is starting to come down in other areas, these regions remain high and will be focused on in the near future.
He’s reminding New Yorkers to socially distance, wear masks and wash their hands.
"This really kills, I know friends how they’re going through it with their families, and it’s devastating,” said Hunts Point resident Ronald Guzman.
Gov. Cuomo says that new guidance would be coming to cluster zone areas this week. Cuomo also said New Yorkers should not expect any changes when it comes to indoor dining restrictions in the city.
