The state announced that it has suspended the liquor licenses of 12 more New York City bars.
The state's multi-agency task force conducted over 480 compliance checks Tuesday night, documenting 29 new violations at establishments around the state including 28 from New York City.
That includes two bars in the Bronx and seven bars in Brooklyn.
The state says formal charges are now being prepared against these bars, which could lead to the loss of their liquor license.
Fernando Mateo, of Hospitality Cares, tells News 12 this could be a death blow for local businesses.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the State Liquor Authority will continue cracking down on bars to avoid an uptick in COVID-19 infections.
