Gov. Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency for all of New York state as the remnants of Debby's powerful winds knocked down trees and power lines.
In a Facebook post Friday afternoon, Hochul said, "We are prepared to deploy resources to areas affected by the severe weather caused by the remnants of Debby."

She also urged New Yorkers to stay safe by monitoring local weather forecasts and staying of the roadways.
