Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that she is backing Vice President Kamala Harris for president after President Joe Biden's announcement Sunday that he will not seek reelection.
Hochul praised Biden's decision for picking Harris as his running mate, saying "he unleashed incredible excitement for a new generation of political leadership."
Hochul also praised Biden and called him "an American hero" and "one of the greatest champions working families have ever known."
She also expressed her gratitude to Biden for his accomplishments and leadership in serving the American people.
