Gov. Hochul holds talks at White House to address the ongoing migrant crisis in New York
Gov. Kathy Hochul says she met with members of the Biden administration in a meeting Wednesday to address the ongoing migrant crisis in New York.
Collaborative efforts between the state and federal government are aimed at managing the influx of asylum seekers.
The Biden administration has committed to providing essential resources, personnel, and data to aid thousands of migrants in New York to obtain work authorization. Gov. Hochul affirmed that while this marks a pivotal initial step, it falls short of fully addressing the crisis, or meeting the comprehensive support needs of New Yorkers.
Hochul further pledged to continue her work to secure work authorization for a broader scope of asylum seekers, expand financial assistance for the state, and advocate for comprehensive immigration reform.
