Gov. Phil Murphy on Tuesday expanded his push for free, full-day kindergarten across the state.

While visiting Maurice Hawk Elementary School in West Windsor, Murphy acknowledged that the vast majority of schools already offer this to families. But he says that there are still some school districts that are falling short.

"This is not just an education investment, which it is. It is an economic investment as well because we will save every parent money by offering them a free, safe, and enriching environment to leave their child during the workday,” the governor said.

Murphy says his administration will also work to make free, universal pre-K a reality in the state.
