Gov. Mikie Sherrill made a visit to CAMcare Health on Friday to highlight funding to support the well-being of mothers and babies.
Families welcoming newborns in participating counties can schedule a free home visit from a specially trained registered nurse to perform health screenings and answer questions to ensure the family has a healthy and safe start.
It is all thanks to a partnership with Family Connects NJ.
“I've talked a lot about how important it is to create an opportunity for every single child in the state, and now with Family Connect, we are making sure that drive for our kids starts on Day 1, quite literally that every family is having that opportunity and having great outcomes in our state,” said Sherrill.
The program is currently available in all of South Jersey and in most of central and North Jersey.
