? The grandmother of a Norwood toddler whose mother and stepfather are behind bars is speaking out about the boy being scalded.
Marcia de Leon says her son, the boy's natural father, is seeking custody of 2-year-old Lenin Rocca. Police say the boy was scalded when his stepfather left him in a tub of hot water. Police say the child suffered third-degree burns and was not taken to the hospital for six days, leading to an infection. Genarro Marino and the boy?s mother face child endangerment charges.
De Leon believes the scalding was an accident, but feels it was irresponsible to leave her grandson in pain. Neighbors in the Norwood apartment building defend the couple, saying the water temperature quickly changes and is unpredictable.
