A Holy Cross Community Parade celebrated Greek independence and the feast day of the Annunciation of the Theotokos today.
The parade started at the Dimitrios & Georgia Kaloidis Parochial School of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Brooklyn.
While the official Greek Independence Day is celebrated March 25, students hit the streets with flags and pounded drums as they made their way down Ridge Boulevard and up Third Avenue.
The cheers heard during the parade were all a part of recognizing freedom in Greek culture and history.
The celebrations continue into the weekend for Greek families.
