Cell phone antennas are increasing atop Bronx buildings and one group is set to rally against them.
The Coalition to Regulate Antennae Safety (CRAS) says all of the towers sprouting up could pose a threat to residents? health. CRAS is made up of community members and local elected officials. The group is pursuing new policies on wireless antenna placement that would mandate input from the community before installations.
Although cell phone companies have said there is not evidence to suggest that light exposure to an antenna will affect a person?s health, the group?s ultimate goal is to keep the towers away from residential areas and schools. It is set to hold a rally on the steps of City Hall Thursday.
