The Coastal Fairfield County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity celebrated International Women's Day with a weekend build in Fairfield.
It was made possible through the organization's Women Build program. The program's goal is to engage and empower women in the nonprofit's work.
Sponsored by ASML, volunteers assisted construction staff on a build site on Greenfield Street.
Volunteers say they are looking forward to helping those in need of new and affordable housing.
"Housing is hard to achieve and it's a constant stress, right? People who are renting are looking at rental increases, when their salaries are not increasing, and it's scary," said Stacey Hart.
Throughout March, the nonprofit is holding several events part of their Women Build-a-thon.
