Residents in Harrison were welcomed to the town’s golf course and country club on Saturday, including its inaugural tee-off.
Harrison Meadows is just one of only three country clubs in Westchester County to be owned by a town.
Members can now make use of all its amenities in the town’s club house. Some of them have been waiting a long time for this day to come.
"I joined it in February,” said Hans Khimm, a Harrison resident. “And I was counting every day…it's a beautiful day"
Along with the golf course, the club also offers a driving range, pool, pool house, six tennis courts, a banquet hall, bar, a snack bar and a restaurant.
“Harrison needed something like this,” added town resident Vito Forgione. “A lot of times you're playing golf courses that are out of the community, out of your town. So this is perfect."
Residents outside of Harrison are able to join the club for a fee.
