Looking for fun things to do in the Bronx? The weekend is here, so let's take a look at what's happening around the borough!
Earth Day is coming up and the celebrations start in our borough this weekend.
The New York City Department of Transportation is gearing up for their annual
car-free Earth Day celebration on Saturday. It's all to cut down on emissions and it will be a city-wide event with 54 car-free streets and plazas from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Instead of driving, organizers want people to walk or bike to the event. You will even get free unlimited 30-minute rides by Citi bike if you use the promo code- carfree24.
Another option to get in the Earth Day spirit, soak in the Bronx River! The
Bronx River Alliance is hosting an open house with free events like canoeing, walking tours and more from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. It will be at 1490 Sheridan Blvd.
In Mott Haven, there will be a Community Day of Action hosted by the
Bronx Chamber of Commerce. All are welcome to help sweep, paint, remove graffiti and wake the ground up from spring. This is happening Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Bruckner Boulevard.
