Have you seen him? Police need help identifying man wanted for Williamsbridge rape

Investigators say a 25-year-old woman was near Paulding Avenue and East 212th Street when the suspect approached her, engaged in conversation, then put his arm around her, dragged her to the ground and forcibly raped her.

Police are asking for the public's help to identify a man wanted for rape in Williamsbridge.

Investigators say a 25-year-old woman was near Paulding Avenue and East 212th Street when the suspect approached her, engaged in conversation, then put his arm around her, dragged her to the ground and forcibly raped her.

The attack happened just after 4 a.m. on Sept. 13.

Police used surveillance camera footage from homes in the neighborhood to help get a photo of the suspect. He is described as a male between 25 to 30 years old, roughly 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with a slim build and black hair. He was last seen on Paulding Avenue.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS. Calls can remain anonymous.
