A city Health Department survey has found more New Yorkers are rolling up their sleeves to express themselves through body art.
The survey found out that one out of three New Yorkers are inked.
Findings show that women outpace men, with 34.9 % getting tattoos compared to 27.4% of their male counterparts.
Unlike decades ago when tattooing was considered an underground subculture or taboo, Health Department findings show it's more acceptable, with New Yorkers between ages 25 through 44 getting the most body art.
When it comes to ranking, the Bronx came in second narrowly missing the top spot that went to Staten Island where the most people are getting inked. Brooklyn came in third followed by Manhattan and then Queens.
