NOW: Sunny, warm and humid weather continues with temperatures set to rise for Thursday.
NEXT: The National Weather Service has upgraded all five boroughs to an excessive heat warning for Thursday and Friday. Last time New York City had this alert was August 13, 2021.
Sweltering heat and humidity Thursday into Saturday. Heat indices: 100-105 degrees. Wet weather returns Thursday afternoon and evening.
News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Darryl Green says there's an air quality alert in effect from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday.
A heat advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. Thursday to at 9 p.m. Friday. Severe storms are possible with damaging winds, hail and a tornado possible by Thursday afternoon and evening. Another round of storms is possible on Saturday afternoon and evening.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and warm. Lows near 78.
TOMORROW: Even hotter and more humid with highs up to 97. Feels-like 100 to 105. Scattered strong to severe storms are likely between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m., especially around the afternoon commute near 5-6 p.m. Lows near 81.
FRIDAY: Hazy, hot and humid with highs near 96. Feels-like temps 100 to 105. No rain expected. Lows near 8
SATURDAY: Showers and storms possible. Highs near 93. Lows down to 71.
SUNDAY: A lingering morning shower possible then nice for the afternoon. Highs near 84. Lows around 69.
MONDAY - TUESDAY: Warm and comfortable. Partly sunny with highs in the low-80s and lows in the upper-60s.
