Tenants at the Soundview Houses say that they have been dealing with no heat in their units since last Friday and were forced to celebrate the holidays in freezing conditions.

Jose Alvarado, one of the Soundview tenants, says he spent the holiday mostly just trying to stay warm under several layers.

The tenants at 1711 Lacombe Ave. say that this issue has persisted for five days. They added that the lack of heat only is in certain parts of the building.

Connecticut resident Jakira Nicholas was visiting her mother, who lives in the part of the building with no heat. She's four months pregnant and has three kids in the house, the youngest is just three years old.

Bronx residents say many in the building are families with small children and seniors with chronic health issues. Affected tenants say they are looking forward to milder temperatures this week.
