Many brides and grooms were able to get married at Our Lady of Sorrows in Queens on Saturday after the pandemic put their big moment on hold.
The church called the event a “united wedding” as they officiated 28 marriages at once.
The parish was greatly impacted by the pandemic, so they saw this as a way to bring light to a challenging situation.
"This a special celebration. We have over here 28 new families who will be closer to the Lord,” says Father Manuel Rodriguez, who officiated the marriages. “So now with this celebration, they have the blessing from all these people."
Each couple got their own sitting area in the church to sit with their family and celebrate their special day.
