Into news. 12 New York for your weather too because we're gonna have a lot of updates coming up over the next couple of days as we are on storm watch, heading towards the weekend, rain is gonna be an issue. Let's check in with storm watch teams. Hoo sei right now to find out how much of an issue it's gonna be. Yeah, Kurt, you know, we're dealing with the rain and we're also dealing with the high wind. So here's the top stories through the weekend. So we're dealing with a nice warm up. That's something that you can enjoy. In the meantime, Friday and Saturday, Gusty storms are to follow on our Sunday and then falling temperatures by Monday. So let's get into the next couple of days high as tomorrow near 48 degrees, 55 on, on Saturday and then 61 on Sunday. But look where those temperatures crash mid to upper forties on our Monday and even cooler by the midweek. But again, we're talking about the rain. That's why we are on storm watch. Again. We're tracking some steady rainfall arriving Sunday afternoon and even taking us into Monday morning. So let's time it out on your future Cast Sunday, it is gonna start off dry. Then we see those temperatures climbing into the upper fifties. Low sixties, some light rain start then a random and, and then it starts to pick up in intensity by the evening hours. So this is around midnight. You're seeing temperatures still near 60 degrees and you're seeing the darker shades of green and yellow, good indicated for some soaking rain And even the high winds will start picking up in intensity through this time frame. But look how quickly those temperatures crash from the sixties to the mid forties by Monday morning. Even though that the rain is pushing out of here, we're still gonna be dealing with some standing water and some gusty winds. So your Monday morning commute will still be impacted Monday afternoon. It is drier temperatures in the mid to upper forties, even cooler by Monday evening. But again, back to those high winds, 40 to 50 MPH really going to be any concern as well as the rain. We're talking about 1 to 2.5 inches of rainfall. It's all good and I don't mean Rainbow.

Unlikely Mount Saint Michael's star prepares for upcoming season

Sports with the NFL regular season still two weeks away at the start of the high school and college seasons here in our city just about upon us. News sports director, Pat o'keefe has an early look at one unlikely star. The high school football season in New York City begins in less than a week in one of the first games. Next Friday, Mount ST Michael hosting Fordham prep a player to watch in that game and throughout this entire season will be Mount senior quarterback Mark Pearson. Junior Pearson never played tackle football before high school. His first time on the grid for Mount was in 2021 when the Catholic League only offered seven on seven flag football during the pandemic. He's never left the field last year in leading Mount to its first league championship game since 2013. Pearson was named All League in the CFL. I played flag back in elementary and middle school and then I quit football. Basketball, came back for the full seven on seven and just wanted to play. I didn't think I was going to start on at all and then they kind of just expected me to play tacos. So then I saw we put on the passport and helmet. I get to work a trade for a few dozen campers at the Brooklyn Nets basketball camp this week. They were surprised by a special guest. Net, Center Day Ron Sharp originally stopped by Helena Classic Charter School in Brooklyn to speak with the 55 campers and answer their questions. And those questions range from, do you own a Lamborghini to do you own a Wendy's? The kids ended up getting a whole lot more as sharp, participated in games and drills alongside the campers. Working up quite a sweat in the process. This is, you know, wonderful because kids, you know, kids, they, they just like the process. They ain't really like, they really don't know what's going on for. They just like playing basketball and really just want to learn, you know what I'm saying? So, like that's why I love playing with your kids. Young kids do Nets. Opening night is in two months. October 25th at Barclays Center against the Cavaliers. I'm Pat.
