High school lesson on earthquakes interrupted by actual earthquake

Ninth graders at Half Hollow Hills High School East were settling in for a lesson on earthquakes Friday, when students say everything began to shake.
At first, they believed their teacher, Mrs. Catherine Jennings, had staged the whole thing as part of the lesson, but it was real 4.8 magnitude quake they were feeling.
Mrs. Jennings said she could not have imagined a better way to engage her students on the subject, and it seems to have worked.
Several students tell News 12 it was a moment they won’t ever forget.
They says they now know more about earthquakes and credit their teacher for keeping them calm during a very unexpected situation.
