Students from Renaissance High School for Musical Theater and Arts are preparing for their first world performance.
Varsity Voices choir and band members have been working for months to prepare for Festival Disney in Orlando, Florida. The even invites some of the best school choirs, orchestras, and concert bands from around the world.
This is the first time Renaissance High School has been invited to take part in the international competition. The students will be performing two songs – including a solo from senior Sharah Cerease.
“This gives us a chance to represent our school…. and our community as well,” said Cerease. “All of us are here from the Bronx, and we can’t wait to show our talent and represent the community.”
The choir and band raised hundreds of dollars for their four-day stay in Florida, and leave at the end of March.
